The Sacred Georg Church was built during the Safavid era on Shahpour Street (Currently Vahdat e Eslami Street) in 1835 AD. This monument was recorded as the national works of Iran due to its many features. The Church of St. George in its early years was a simple prayer room, which became the church in 1835 AD. St.George Church in Tehran was rebuilt and restored in 1882 AD and changed to its present form. Two Christian families, Huspian and Istipani, built the holy George chapel in 1795 AD. For the sake of the Armenian commander, St. George, who was killed by the idol worshipers in promoting Christianity in Armenia, the name of the church was called the St. George. The altar of the St. George Church in Tehran is on the eastern side of the entrance and has a dome with multiple lightning. The bell tower of St. George Church was built in three floors in the southern side of the church due to lack of space on the western side of the church.
