This mansion was built between 1227 and 1232 Hijri calendar in two floors with 60 small and big rooms and one royal room. Mussa Khani mansion was built by skillful architects and artists of Yazd upon the order of Haj Mohammad Ali or his son Mussa Khan. There are two interior and exterior parts plus one central yard in this mansion which include three northern parts (winter rooms), western parts (four season rooms) and southern parts (summer rooms). There are many materials used in this building like clay, lime, plaster, stone and wood that mulberry wood and walnuts wood are used for making sash windows and doors of this mansion. You can find some plaster decorations with planet, animal and geometric paintings. The reflection of Mussa Khani mansion on the big pool in the yard is something that you can’t miss which gets more beautiful with colorful sash windows. Mussa Khani mansion was repaired in 70th decade because of the damages to this mansion. There is Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Shahr-e Babak in Mussa Khani mansion and the northern part of this mansion with a twin wind tower is changed to Shahr-e Babak Ethnological Museum.
